My new home is in Marina Bay

Following my father’s footsteps I went into construction

I was building a Primary School in Ang Mo Kio

I was confident and held my head up high

I held the metal cutting machine with my hands

Never received any form of training before

I cut pieces after pieces of metal

And suddenly my little finger was gone

The skin was cut, the wound was raw,

the bone evidently broken and blood flowed non-stop

I tried to report this to the boss but he was nowhere to be found

In the end, I was sent to a clinic
